MDM-2 ESHIPBORNE OPTICAL-ELECTRONIC DEFLECTION SYSTEM


MDM-2E shipborne optical-electronic deflection system is intended to protect objects (surface ships, coastal military equipment systems, stationary installations) from precision weapons (missiles, bo
mbs, artillery ammunition), equipped with semi-active laser guidance systems.
MDM-2E system provides fulfillment of the following tasks:
- Detection of illumination of the defended object by weapon’s laser target designator;
- Bearing measurement of emitting laser designator;
- Launching of a decoy target located far from the defended object;
- Automatic and semi-automatic operation in autonomous mode and possibility to be operated from the higher automated control system;
- Possibility of on-line change of the mode by an operator manually;
- Documentation of information concerning elaborated decisions, modes of operation, actions of operator, status of interfaced systems, as well as detected target designators;
- Training of personnel in operation in simulated situation;
- Automated serviceability check and troubleshooting.
